Buck 110 Folding Hunter 3.75" Blade, Ebony Wood Handles, Lockback, Leather Sheath Folding Knife

Knife Global.Mar 03, 2022
The 110 Folding Hunter--A traditional favorite! Buck's Folding Hunter was created in 1963 when Al Buck decided that a revolutionary lockblade knife was needed by outdoorsmen who wanted a sturdy knife but did not want to carry a long fixed-blade knife. He was right and the result proved to be the key to the company's future. The challenge was to combine the strengths of other folding knives with locking mechanisms into a good-looking, reliable product. It wasn't easy, but after a series of refinements, the Model 110 was unveiled. Within six months, this innovation was the hottest knife in the industry. The Folding Hunter, after over 50 years, is still one of America's best-selling knives. As originally introduced in the 1960s the 110 once again features a genuine ebony hardwood handle. This ethically sourced Crelicam ebony supports replanting efforts in the Congo Basin rainforest, while providing Buck Knives with a genuine hardwood handle that is nearly indestructible.*Please note: When Buck makes handles out of natural products, you will find nature's own "brandmarks." In most cases, these markings are not flaws, rather nature's own design. Colors and markings will vary from handle to handle. Each one will have its own personality and distinctive look unlike handles created from man-made materials.*420HC STEELThis is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.Clip Point BladeThe crescent tip makes the blade thinner with a sharper point. This shape provides good control for detail work and cutting in tight places. It is also well suited for intentional punctures like new holes in your belt, etc. While the point of the blade is effective for detail work, it's not as strong as the thicker points on drop points and skinners.Blade Length: 3-3/4"Blade Material: 420HC Stainless SteelHandle Material: Crelicam Ebony WoodBlade Thickness: 0.12"Length Closed: 4-7/8"Locking Mechanism: LockbackWeight: 7.2 oz.Black Leather Belt SheathForever WarrantyMade in USA#knifeglobal #kubeyknives #kubey #EDC #Knifeclub #kubeyknife #knives #knife #Knifefanatic #Multitool #Tacticalknives #Tacticalknife #Everydaytactical #Knifepic #Edcknives #Knivesforsale #Bladeforums #Madebetter #FoldingKnife #Knifephoto #knifeporn #knifenut#knifephotography #edcknife #foldingknife #knives #knifephotography #knivesofig #knivesforsale #knivesout #knivesofinstagram #customknives#knivesweekly #forksoverknives #knivesofinsta #knifeobsession #knifeporn #knifenut #huntingseason #wildernesssurvival #knivesofinstagram #knifecomunity #everdaycarry #knifeedc #campingknife #outdoorknife #usmilitary #knives #knife #foldingknife #edcknife #EDC #edcknives #knifephotography #knivesofig #knivesforsale #knivesout #knivesofinstagram #customknives #knivesandcoffee #knivesweekly #forksoverknives #knivesofinsta #knifeobsession #knifeporn #knifeaddicts #knifemaking #knifenut The article is shared from Internet...knifeglobal:https ://knifeglobal.com

KA-BAR GUNNY KNIFE AN OVERSIZED BLADE COMMEMORATES A LARGER-THAN-LIFE PERSONALITY

Knife Global.Jul 01, 2021
From KA-BAR: "Designed by R. Lee Ermey, also known as "The Gunny." This was the last project The Gunny worked on before his passing in 2018. Created to be used in any and all terrains and situations. A portion of sales of the Gunny Knife will be donated to the Fisher House Foundation, an organization that was near and dear to R. Lee Ermey." (KA-BAR photo)R Lee Ermey Gunny Knife KA-BAR(KA-BAR photo)The Late Gunny’s Final Knife Collaboration Was Certainly Not His Least.KA-BAR Gunny ReviewThe KA-BAR Gunny is a hybrid design that resembles a bolo. I suspect R. Lee Ermey, the unforgettable Gunny who serves as the knife’s namesake, spent some time in jungles because this combination chopper/slicer’s performance is on par with village-forged bolos I’ve used in Southeast Asia, and that’s a high compliment. Its forward weight and terrific blade design promote efficient chopping. We cut through 3-to-4-inch-thick saplings with two strokes. We took down a tree with a 6-inch-thick truck just because we could. After the chopping the blade was still sharp enough for camp kitchen work. The belly, good balance and fine edge combined to make slicing meat and vegetables a pleasure. Slashing hanging rubber hose and the water bottle were a piece of cake. The comfortable handle lends itself both to heavy chopping and fine meat cutting, which is unusual.

Böker Partners up with CobraTec Yet Again for OTF Pen

Knife Global.Jul 01, 2021
Böker continues to roll out new automatic knives; their latest project in the genre is something quite different. The Böker Plus OTF Pen combines two different EDC tools, adding an automatic blade to a durable pen design. If you had to draw up a product based on the name “OTF Pen,” you’d probably come up with something similar to Böker’s creation. The pen itself is made from aluminum, with a chassis that echoes other “tactical” pens in the Böker lineup; the narrow waist flares out again towards the pen tip, creating an almost kubaton-like profile. The pen itself, a ball point, is deployed by twisting the pen barrel. But the main selling point (pun intended) on the OTF pen is found at the opposite end. After the end cap is unscrewed, users can then deploy an automatic blade by pressing up on the pocket clip; pushing it in the other way retracts the blade again. The blade is a tiny drop point, measuring 1.57 inches long – so this is a backup knife, suited for little, unexpected cutting chores and not intended as a complete EDC package. Sometimes with these novelty-style products, blade steel is neglected – but enthusiasts will be glad to hear Böker chose to make the OTF Pen’s blade from D2 semi stainless, so the little knife should hold an edge for quite a while.Due to the legal issues surrounding the format, all of Böker’s recent automatic projects have been made with help from OEMs in the USA. One of Böker’s go-to partners for automatics is CobraTec, a Texas-based shop that put together the Kwaiken OTF and a new Balisong release. CobraTec makes an OTF pen of its own, and the Böker knife bears a strong family resemblance to that product. The article is shared from Internet...knifeglobal:https ://knifeglobal.com

Rick Hinderer Crafts Loving Tribute to KA-BAR’s Classic USMC Knife

Knife Global.Jul 01, 2021
Hinderer Knives is back with a new fixed, and it’s a tribute to one of the all-time greats. The Hinderer KaBar pays homage to the KA-BAR USMC Mk. 2 Utility Fighting Knife, with enough differences to distinguish it from its illustrious forbearer. The concept of a Hinderer KaBar came about as Rick Hinderer began brainstorming ideas for tribute knife to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. “Of course when one thinks of WWII and the knives used in that war, you automatically remember the KA-BAR knife,” Hinderer writes in a piece on his website. The USMC Mk. 2 Fighting Utility Knife, as the KA-BAR classic is formally known, is without a doubt the most iconic knife of WWII. It has moved beyond the knife world itself and gone on to become almost as ubiquitous as the Buck 110 or a Swiss Army knife. “So the seed was planted in my mind that I wanted to make a USMC Mark 2 Fighting Utility Knife or KaBar,” Hinderer continues. On the macro level, the Hinderer KaBar sticks to the unmistakable look of the original; the major differences are ones of construction and materials. The Hinderer KaBar features full tang construction (instead of a hidden tang-style build), with rounded Micarta scales replacing the stacked leather of its predecessor. The core of the enlarged cross guard is part of the tang, with aluminum scales bolted on top of it, and the redesigned pommel, also made from aluminum, is attached with another screw on the bottom.A look at the full tang construction of the Hinderer KaBarFor the blade Hinderer kept the iconic, California clip profile, the 7-inch edge length, and the big front-and-back fullers. The two changes of note are the blade steel, which here is ultra-tough 3V, and the big forward finger groove beneath the cutting edge. A leather sheath rounds out the package, providing a practical carry option as well as something historically apposite for those who plan to keep the Hinderer KaBar as a collector’s piece.During the design process, Hinderer reached out to KA-BAR for permission to use their name on this release. Thus hte KA-BAR wordmark is stamped on the off side of the blade tang; Hinderer himself notes that this is the first time KA-BAR has ever given anybody permission to use their logo on a rendition of this oft-imitated knife.
